Skalpin Olson's Home Base

I am a mother of five children 3 stepchildren and many grandchildren. I am also an RN and have a heart for all children and feel strongly about their safety.My writings are written to relay family problems and how they can be solved. I also write personal interest articles for local newspapers, newsletters, and poems for anthologies. In 1998 I received Honorable Mention in a Writers Digest Contest, and in 2000 a Diploma from the Institute of Children's Literature. In 2005 I recieved "The Persistence Award" and in 2006, "Writer of the Year" reward from The American Christian Writers Association. Also in 2006 I was honored to receive Honorary mention for an article to MidWestern Senior Expo, on How to enjoy life after 60. I have written three novels, The Truth Shall Set You Free , and Train Wreck in the Sierras and my new release, Life After Death.I have done speaking engagements on Child Abuse locally, and hope to broaden my horizons as I continue speaking on the subjects of my books.

My first husband and I were married for 40 years and raised our five sons before his death in 1999. I remarried in 2002 to my present husband and relocated in Cambridge, MN where we now reside. We enjoy gardening, taking care of our lake home and our home here in Cambridge. In the fall we go around the state giving flu shot to others. In November we take a trip up north and as my husband goes deer hunting. We also have 4-wheelers which we cruise around the area as entertainment. My body is becoming older but my mind is staying young and I plan on continuing our activities and my writing until the good Lord calls me home.
